Factory Class:
• There seems to be some confusion about the maximum weight for Factory Class. From the Rules Annex 3: "Maximum rifle weight is 17 pounds, weighed in the as-fired configuration, including any bipod or monopod."
• There is also a question about adding weight to a Factory Gun up to the 17 pound maximum. The rules do not prohibit this, but the added weight must be attached to the rifle, preferably within the butt stock.
• There is also some question about what qualifies as a Factory Gun. From the Rules Anne 3: "A factory rifle is defined as any standard production rifle - not a custom shop rifle – with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) maximum of $2500". This $2500 maximum MSRP includes the as purchased rifle configuration.
• Please read the Rules Annex 3, there are not many modifications that may be made to a Factory Gun.
Tactical Class:
• Rules Annex 4 defines that Tactical Guns must be fired single shot, not from a magazine.
• There has also been some confusion about the stock forend configuration. Also from the Rules Annex 4: "Flat stock fore-ends less than 2 1/8” wide are allowed when using a front rest. When using a front rest with a fore end wider than 2 1/8”, there may be no vertical flat sides on the stock, and the bottom of the stock must be radiused, except that one flat section on the bottom center of the stock not greater than 1 ½” wide is allowed. The purpose of this rule is that Light Gun stocks may not be used in Tactical competition."
• Note that when shooting from a bipod or monopod, a front rest is not used so the fore end configuration noted above does not apply.
Question about yardage at South Beaver:
• A shooter has voiced that the South Beaver Range distance to the Target Line is 992 yards. Yardage was measured using a high quality rangefinder from the benches, and this shows 997 yards. This is well within a reasonable tolerance for a 1000 yard range.
